Allie Mae Weaver Evans Woodard was born November 9, 1932 to Mr. & Mrs. Emanuel Weaver. She was the second oldest child, because Jimmie Lee was already on the Scene. Then came along James (Pop), John, Jackie and sister Beverly. Before Beverly arrived, Allie being the only girl in the family for several years, was ok with that because she loved to climb trees and run around the neighborhood with her brothers. However, she was happy when her parents added more playmates to the bunch. She loved having them around and they all bonded to be very close knit.
Allie was educated locally at Lavilla Elementary, A. L. Lewis Junior High, and Stanton High, Class of 1952. She was very active and committed until her illness. Her work-life included being a nurse at Brewster Hospital and a manager at Blue Cross Blue Shield, which she retired after 20 years of dedicated service.
Allie was actively involved in her church, St. Joseph Missionary Baptist, under the leadership of Rev. H. T. Rhim, her pastor and friend of whom she has known since second grade. She served in various capacities and ministries, including: Church Clerk, Sick and Shut-Ins, Senior Women, Sunday School Teacher, and CTU Teacher, where she taught Books of the Bible to new disciples.
Allie loved the sun and would be in her yard early planting flowers and other assorted plants. She would spend hours rearranging planters, pruning, potting and repotting plants. She not only loved adorning her yard beautifully, but also herself. She was an avid shopper and you would always find her dressed from head to toe in the finest apparel.
Allie gained her Heavenly wings and went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 2, 2022 at 7:10pm. She was predeceased by parents, Emanuel
and Gertrude Weaver; husbands, John Woodard and Willie Evans; children, Renay Woodard, twins Judy and James, Janis Woodard Robinson; siblings, Jimmie Lee, John, Jackie and Beverly Weaver.
Allie leaves to cherish her memories: children, Victor Woodard, Karen Evans Valentine; grandchildren, Brandon Robinson, Gregory (Shakeeta) Valentine, Kala Bennett (Barry) Williams and Taylor Woodard (Reginald) Carter; great-grandchildren, Brandeshia Robinson, Bryce Robinson, Zoie Valentine, Kennedy Williams, Gregory Valentine II, Kendall Williams, Samir Valentine, and Kensen Williams; brother James (Pop) Weaver; sister in-law, Naomi Weaver; nieces, nephews, cousins, loving neighbors, and many friends, including special friend Azalene Johnson, and god-daughter, Evelyn Burnam (Walter) Kimbrough.
