Our Dearest B. Thomas Lewis, 79, was born March 27, 1944, in Jacksonville, Florida, to Dorothy and Glasker Lewis, Sr. Lewis graduated from Stanton High School, Class of 1961.
He later joined the United States Army and received his honorable discharge after serving his country for 20 years. Shortly after his retirement from the US Army, he began a career as a security officer as he continued to serve and be a help to many people.
Lewis later met the darling of his life, Mary Lewis. They were united in holy matrimony on March 4, 2016. They shared a happy marriage for seven glorious years until the death of Lewis. Having left many great relationships behind, including being a loving and devoted father to his beautiful daughter, Marsha L. Frails. The beautiful couple also attended to the needs and comfort of the late Josephine Worthen until she graciously passed on July 1, 2019.
Lewis was a faithful member of Shiloh Metropolitan Baptist Church,Tabernacle Baptist Church and Mt. Ararat Baptist Church. He served on the Men’s Ministry at Mt. Ararat Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Darrell L. Gilyard, Sr.
Lewis was preceded in death by his brother, Glasker Lewis, Jr.; godmother, Josephine Worthen.
B. Thomas Lewis went home to be with the Lord on September 3, 2023. He left peacefully in the comfort of his wife, Mary Lewis.
Lewis leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife, Mary Lewis; daughter, Marsha L. Frails; brother, Joseph T. Lewis; grandchildren, Charles W. Frails, ll, Christian J. Frails and Chandler T. Frails; Sister, Rena Mobley (Roy); Brother David Brown (Charlotte); nieces and nephews: Harry and Makovassa Newman, William and Jennifer Bailey, Fernando and Patricia Perez; 11 grand nieces and nephews; special friend, Lonnie Medlock; a host of loving relatives and friends.
