Barbara Harper

Barbara Harper was  native of Jacksonville, Florida and was born March 18, 1939 to Jessie M Gay and Jimmie Dixon.   

She attended the local schools of Duval County, graduating from Stanton High School.  After graduating from Stanton High School, Barbara began working for the City of Jacksonville as a clerical clerk for many years before retiring.  

Barbara met and married William E. Harper in June of 2005  who preceded her in death.

She was a faithful member of Saint Stephen African Methodist Episcopal Church where she served in three choirs.  

Barbara is survived by her two daughters, Tanya Mitchell and Rochelle Mitchell; grandchildren, Chameka Jones, Eureka Walker and Cleveland Lewis; ten great grandsons; one great granddaughter; three god daughters, NeNe, Gwen and Janet; one god son, Mark; two grand son-in-laws, Rashad Walker and Nathan Spears; a host of dear friends.
