Bernard C. Wright, Jr., “Stanka” was born December 27, 1974, to Reverend Bernard C. and Linda Wright, Sr. At an early age he accepted Christ and was baptized at Tabernacle Baptist Church, in Atlanta, Georgia. Bernard maintained his membership at Siloam Baptist Church in Eastpoint, Georgia under the leadership of Pastor J.C. Carter. Bernard was known to regularly imitate Pastor Carter. Growing up, he faithfully served in the youth ministry. He later served as a drummer and sound technician for his father at Causey Chapel Baptist Church in Austell, Georgia. Wherever Bernard was around, you could feel love and laughter exuded in the room as he was always the center of attention.
Bernard graduated from Creekside High School in Fairburn, Georgia, Class of 1993. While attending high school, Bernard excelled in football, basketball and baseball. He furthered his education with the Clara White Mission Culinary School in Jacksonville, Florida, Class of 2015. While attending the Clara White Mission Culinary School, Bernard was recognized as the Valedictorian. He was an avid Chef and known for his extraordinary presentations. A highlight of his career was winning the Grand Prize at the Titusville Bar-B-Que cookoff with his father. He was employed as the Kitchen Manager at D’Bo’s a local cuisine where the patrons could taste the love poured into his creations. Bernard was known as a God-fearing man and would always help anyone in need. Known as a “secret preacher,” Bernard had a unique way for ministering to the unchurched, as he always had a word about the Lord.
Bernard is survived by his parents, Reverend Bernard C. Wright, Sr. and Linda Wright; children, Detravious “Trey” (Sylvia) and S’Day; grandchildren, Katie, Kennedy, Kendra, Kobi, and Kayleigh; brother, Adrian (Doris); Godbrother, Will Butler “Bubba” (Rosland); a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and sorrowing friends.
