Ms. Brenda Ann Jay was born June 22, 1959 to John E. Jay and Maggie O. Ross Jay in Osierfield, Georgia (Irwin County). She attended the local schools of Duval County, graduation from Andrew Jackson, class of 1977.
Brenda was a member of New Mount Zion Baptist Church under Reverend Leroy Grant. She was also a dedicated employee of S.A.F.E and SMG serving for 15 years.
Brenda was preceded in death by her mother, Maggie O. Ross Jay (2008), granddaughter, Arionna M. Stegall (2003) and her nephew, Tommy Jay, Jr.
Brenda is survived by her son, Addison Stegall, III (Michelle), Dequan Jay and Nathaniel Odom, Jr.: former husband, Nathaniel Odom; granddaughters, Azaria Pusey, Zarionna Jay, Ahniya Stegall and Quanaye Jay; grandsons, Giovante Corley, Jadon Williams, Addison Stegall, IV, Ayden Stegall, Amir Stegall, Zion Watts, Micah Lawrence, Dequan Jay, Jr., Dylan Jay and Laquon Singleton; bonus grandchildren, Theodore Davis, Zyani Muhammad, Zaniya Rayburn and Zamon Cardenas; sisters, Dianne Smith and Gloria Evans (James); brothers, Tommy Jay (Tonette) and Lafayette Jay; step sisters, Gail McCormick and Missie Smith; special friends, Audrey Thornton, Claudette Jackson and Ms. Grace; nieces, Chanikia Jay, Kesha McDonald and Britney Jay; nephew, Clifford Fair, Antwan Mann, Troy Mann and Tony Mann; a host of other nieces, nephews, grand and great grand nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
