Donald Eugene Rocker, Junior was born September 23, 1994 to Seyburn and Donald Rocker, Sr. in Jacksonville, Duval County, Florida. A most handsome and debonair young man, he matriculated through the Duval County Public School System, and graduated in 2013 from Sandalwood High School, where he excelled as an Offensive Tackle in football, earning him numerous scholarships nationwide. He knew that there is life beyond this earthly existence and accepted our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, into his life at a young age at Saint Stephen African Methodist Episcopal Church where he served as a Junior Usher.
Diesel attended and played his favorite sport – football – at Western Kentucky University (Bowling Green, Kentucky), and Garden City Community (Garden City, Kansas). His athletic prowess carried him to minor leagues and international teams to include Kyiv, Ukraine (Dynamo Kyiv), and Queretaro, Mexico (Queretaro Pioneers). Upon conclusion of his professional football career, he brought his athletic talents and experiences back to his hometown to coach at Fletcher High School – defensive line assistant coach, Sandalwood High School – Varsity offensive line and Junior Varsity head coach, and Andrew Jackson High School – offensive coordinator.
As a young adult, Diesel caught a glimpse of a beautiful, intelligent, sweet young lady, whom he pursued and captured her heart: the love of his life, Jamie Rose Williams (Rocker); they were to be joined in matrimony in the Spring of 2022. Though their journey together on earth was short lived, theirs was a love of a lifetime, truly a blessing from God.
Early Sunday morning, May 2, 2021, Diesel departed this life at home in Jacksonville, Florida. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, colleagues and proteges.
Remaining to cherish his wonderful life and legacy include: his loving, devoted Fiancée: Jamie Rose Williams (Rocker) (Jacksonville, FL); wonderful, loving, parents: Donald (Sr.) and Seyburn Rocker (Jacksonville, FL); siblings: Stacey Rocker and Anthony Barker (Jacksonville, FL) ; David McDaniel and Gyasi Joyner (Atlanta, GA); Colin Rocker (Maui, HI), and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.” (2 Timothy 4:7-8)
