Mrs. Ethel Lee Taylor was born on August 17, 1941 in St. Augustine, Florida. She is the daughter of the late Robert and Jimmie Lee. She found her one true love in the late Joshua Taylor. The two united in holy matrimony on October 27, 1958. Their bond was inseparable, surely a match made in heaven. When you saw one, you saw the other.
Ethel’s name is synonymous with family, working tirelessly to create beautiful memories with her love ones. She did not play about family time; it was not uncommon to hear her say, “You all need to put those phones away and enjoy each other’s company.” Mrs. Taylor loved and valued her family above all else and she made sure they knew it. Over the years, many of her children’s friends even grew to call her Mother because this same love was shared with them. She truly was the ultimate mother.
Ethel received her education from Booker T. Washington Senior High School in Miami, FL. She worked many years as an administrative receptionist for Duval County Public Schools, retiring in 2017.
On April 21, 2021, Ethel received her wings and went home to be with our Lord and Savior. Ethel leaves behind her devoted sons, Eddie Taylor (Katrina) and Vincent Taylor (Dina); her beautiful daughters, Janice Stewartson (Lenworth), Debbie Taylor, and Nicole Russell (James); her sisters, Brenda Colston and June Lee; her brother, Glen Lee; her loving grandchildren, Khari Taylor, Joshalen Stewartson, Rahim Taylor (April), Iman Williams (Bobby), Marcus Stewartson, Ja’Mone Taylor, and Ja’Niya Taylor; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Though our eyes shed tears for Ethel, we find comfort in knowing she has reunited with her precious love, Joshua.
