Geraldine Fields Mitchell was born in Jacksonville, Florida to the late Rev. Dr. Edward Fields, Jr. and Carrie Bell Cobb Fields on January 26, 1945.
She attended local schools of Duval County and graduated from Northwestern Senior High School, class of 1962. She attended Florida Agriculture and Mechanical University. She married Robert Lee Mitchell and had two children, Robin Denise Mitchell and Charles Edward Mitchell. She was an educator for over 40 years in Jacksonville teaching daycare aged children and touched many lives. Geraldine loved the Lord, was a devout Christian and loved to share the word. She was a long-time member of the Epiphany Baptist Church where she rejoiced in the word of God and the Fellowship of the congregation.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Robin M. Rivers.
She leaves behind her son, Charles Mitchell and daughter-in-law, Christine Mitchell; grandchildren, Chantel, Brittany, Jerell, Ebony, Javard, Destiny, Chase, Charlotte; great grandchildren, Jamilah, T.J., Trenton, P.J., and Jadore; a whole host of Church family and friends.
