Mrs. Jacquelyn Marie Johnson, daughter of the late Willie Frank Champion, Sr. and Elizabeth Champion - Wells, was born February 19, 1948, in Atlantic Beach, Florida. This peaceful and loving spirit went home to be with the Lord on March 6, 2023.
Early in her teen years she made a confession to accept Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized at Central Metropolitan CME Church in Jacksonville, Florida.
She was educated in the public schools of Duval County and a proud graduate of Douglas Anderson High School, Class of 1966. She attended Edward Waters College from 1966 to 1968. Jacquelyn married her husband Isaac Johnson on August 17, 1974. She worked in the food service industry until she retired in 2008.
She is preceded by her Father Willie Frank Champion, Sr., Stepfather, Rev. Theordore Roosevelt Wells; husband, Isaac Johnson; Mother, Elizabeth Champion – Wells; brother, Johnny Wells.
She will be forever cherished by her loving children, Jacquina M. Lewis (Albert Lewis), Michelle D. Taylor (Eric Taylor) and Isaac Curtis Johnson; four grandchildren, Michael E. Taylor, Amber Taylor, Keyona D. Taylor and Javonte’ D. Taylor; one great granddaughter, Aubrey Taylor.
She also leaves her beloved siblings, Marion Champion, Emanual Champion (Johnnie), Frank Champion, Joseph Wells (Wanda), Marvin Wells, Norris Wells (Teri) and Frances Wells-Thurman (Preston).
She is also survived by her devoted in-laws, Rebecca Brown and Benjamin Johnson, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
