Mother Katherine Kirtsey at the age of 90 went home to be with our Heavenly Father on March 31, 2020 at Community Hospice Jane and Bill Warner Center for Caring.

Katherine Kirtsey was born June 17,1929 to James Solomon and Mary Estella Randolph in Spring Bluff, Georgia where she also attended school along with her seven siblings.

She met and married Andrew Kirtsey, Sr. on August 12,1961 in Fernandina Beach, Florida. To the union, she had a total of ten sons and one daughter. Of the ten sons seven are living. She was a very faithful wife and mother. 

She worked at Japp Laurna Restaurant where she served there for five years. Followed by the Blue Seal Restaurant, and the Amelia Island Plantation where she retired from.

Mrs. Kirtsey was very well known in her community of Fernandina Beach. Not only was she well known in the community but she was also a very faithful mother to the community. She was very dedicated to feeding, helping, and praying for those who were in need. She would always extend a hand to anyone.

She dedicated her life to Christ in 1962 where her first church was St. Mark Holiness Church under the ministry of Bishop Miton. She was a faithful member and usher. She joined as a faithful member and mother at New Jerusalem House of God Saints in Christ under the leadership of Elder Lockett, Elder Williams, Elder Curry, and Elder Baker. Mother Katherine Kirtsey became a member of Kingdom Ministries Church of God in 2009 and served faithfully as a mother until her health began to fail her. 

Mrs. Kirtsey was preceded in the death of her loving and devoted husband of 35 years,  Andrew Kirtsey, Sr.; four sons, Bobbie, Joseph, Ronald, and Dennis; her parents and siblings.

She is survived by her children, Alvin (Heather), Andrew, Lennis, Ezell, Stacy, Wayne and Jeremiah (Bessie), her daughter Sonya Jackson; stepson, Jimmy Jenkins; Godson, James Raysor;  a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; two sister-in-laws, Patricia Kirtsey and Geraldine Kirtsey; a dear brother-in-law, Brad Lee; a host of nieces, nephews, friends and a special dear friend, Eva Perkins.

She will be forever missed but she will forever be in our hearts.
