Latrell “Elaine” Bronson, a lifelong resident of Jacksonville, Florida, entered eternal rest on January 29, 2026, at the age of 71. She was born on April 21, 1954, in Jacksonville, Florida.
Elaine was the beloved daughter of Dorothy Bronson Kendrick and Aaron Kendrick, Jr., both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Danita Kendrick and Sherrie Kendrick.
Elaine leaves to cherish her memory her brother, Kevin Kendrick (Sheila); her brother, Aaron Kendrick III (Wanyonyi); her biological daughter, Angel Brown; her chosen daughter, Allison Benefield; and her beloved grandchildren, Alexandra Brown and Andriana Brown, along with a host of nieces (Angelica Kendrick), nephews (Kelvin, Aaron and Joshua Kendrick), Aunty Josephine Harris, Uncle Willie Bronson, extended family members, friends, and loved ones whose lives she touched deeply.
As the eldest of five children, Elaine naturally assumed the role of caretaker at an early age. During a time when both parents worked long hours, she became the backbone of her household—ensuring her younger siblings were fed, dressed, educated, and cared for. That spirit of responsibility, protection, and love never left her.
Elaine was known throughout her family and community as a fierce protector, a trusted counselor, and a constant source of laughter. She had a gift for making people feel safe, seen, and supported. Whether caring for children, advocating for her family, or guiding loved ones through life’s challenges, Elaine always stood in the gap for others.
Professionally, Elaine worked as a nursing assistant, a role that perfectly reflected her natural calling. She cared for people at both ends of life’s journey—the young and the elderly—with compassion, patience, dignity, and humor.
Elaine was also deeply spiritual and maintained a strong faith throughout her life. She spoke often of God, trusted Him fully, and lived with the assurance that she would one day see Him face to face.
Those who knew Elaine will remember her for her warmth, her honesty, her humor, her unwavering loyalty to family, and her ability to bring light into any room she entered.
Above all, Elaine will be remembered as a woman who lived to care for others—who ran alongside people through life, carried them through hardship, laughed with them through joy, and loved them without condition.
Her legacy lives on through her daughters, her grandchildren, her brothers, and the countless lives she touched along the way.
