Psalm 23:4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Nathan “Nathaniel” Shaw [AKA “Slick”], was born on March 1, 1949, in Ray City, Georgia, to the late Mr. Burnace Nathaniel Shaw, and Dorothy Mae Camon (Shaw). Nathaniel and family relocated to Jacksonville, Florida in the late 50’s. He attended Moncrief Elementary School, Northwestern Junior/Senior High School and William M. Raines High School. He was drafted into the U. S. Army in August of 1968 and after basic training, was deployed to Vietnam. He was honorably discharged as a 100% Service-Connected Disabled Veteran.
Nathaniel experienced some highs and lows during his lifetime. And anyone who knew Nathaniel knew that he loved God. Pastor Don Johnson called him Prophet Nathaniel. He believed and respected the Word of God. He often made the comment, “Don’t you know that me and God are friends.” When he received the diagnosis that he only had up to 6 months to live, he did not fret. He told the doctors, the nurses, family members and friends, “I’m at peace with God. And when God calls my name, I’ll be ready.”
Nathaniel was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Dorothy Mae Camon, his father Burnace Nathaniel Shaw, and his Grandson Antuan Shaw. His memory will be cherished by his Daughters: Valerie Shaw, and Kantracy Shaw; Grand-Children: Namon Littlejohn, II (Kasye), Shaquira Skarica (Marko), Jacobi Anderson, and Jacori Jeffery; Great-Grand-Children: Antuan Shaw, II, Loyalty Shaw, Ke’uan Shaw, Mekhi Skarica, and Nia Littlejohn; Siblings: Burnace Shaw, Sr. (Pamela), Elaine Webb Jenkins (Mortimer), Sarah Webb Rhodes (Freddie), Judge Webb, Jr., and Andrew Webb; His Fiancé, Joyce Hasan; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
