Reginald Darrell Amons, Sr. was born on July 21, 1957 in Jacksonville, Florida to Herbert Johnnie Amons and the late Jerlean Amons. He was one of three children. Reginald was educated in the Duval County School system and graduated from Robert E. Lee High School.
Reginald was united in holy matrimony to Ethel Louise on August 26, 1978. Their union spanned over 40 years and produced three sons, Reginald Darrell Amons, Jr., Keith Lenard Amons and Christopher Amons.
He was employed as a mechanic by Fiber Sheet Metal for many years. He also served in the United States Army.
Reginald accepted the Lord at an early age and was a member of Second Baptist Church during his youth. He later joined St. Johns Baptist Church and was a longstanding member who for many years served as a trustee in the church. He sang tenor in the St. Johns Baptist Church Choir and with the gospel Bell Turner singers. Those who knew him well remember him as a caring, creative, funny, and genuine man. His smile would light up a room. Reginald worked hard and loved his family. He was “a true jack of all trades and a man among men."
Reginald left his earthly body to be present with the Lord on Sunday, March 31, 2019.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and many memories to be cherished by his wife Ethel Louise Amons; his children, Reginald Amons Jr. (Tiffany), Keith Amons (Erica) and Christopher Amons; sister, Belinda Amons; brother, Herbert Johnnie Amons, Jr.; grandchildren, Jeremiah Amons, London Amons, and Christine Amons; nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
