Rosalyn Gail Logue

 The Book of Life closed for Roslyn Gail Shields Logue on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Jacksonville, Florida.

Gail, as many affectionately knew her, was born on January 02, 1952, to Johnny Edward Shields, and Lillian Constance Ford Shields, at Brewster Methodist Hospital, Jacksonville, Florida. She was the third child born to this union.

Gail spent her early years living in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and was educated in their public school system. As a young adult, while living in Philadelphia, she met her future husband, Cleveland Logue. They were married on February 12, 1981, and recently celebrated 40 years of love and happiness. To this union was born a son, Cleveland Dwight Logue.

Gail’s first passion was music, especially singing. She was a member of St. Stephens AME Church, a Shields family church for 85 + years. She originally joined in 1981,
under the pastorate of Rev. (Bishop) Robert Webster, and in 2011, renewed her commitment to Jesus Christ, under Rev. (Bishop) Michael L. Mitchell. She was a member of the St. Stephens Mass Choir and The Joyful Voices.

Gail was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny and Lillian Shields; her grandparents, Stephen and Juanita Shields; Lillian and William Buster Ford; Aunt Delores S. Newsom; Uncles Cornelius Shields and Alvin Mitchell; Brother-in-Law Robert Freeman; Sisters-in-law, Helen Logue Goss and Deborah Freeman; and mother-in-law Tisha Logue.

In addition to her husband and son, Gail leaves to cherish her fond memory, her siblings: Sheron Johnetta Shields Moody (Harry); Brenda Bellard Harris (Melvin); Denise Renee Shields; Marcia Valerie Mitchell; Andrea Yvette Shields (deceased); Shawn Terrance Shields; Errol Darnell Shields; Lalita “Latifah” Darlene Shields (Abdul Wali); Vaughn Anthony Shields (deceased); Tanya NaComis Shields (Khalil); Eric John Shields Sr. (Dorice); Uncles: Vaughn Anthony Ford and Luther Newsom; Aunts: Elaine Ford Jackson; Altamease S. Roberts, and Ruth S. Gary.
Brothers-in-law: Vander Fields, and Irving Fields.    

Stepdaughter Katrina Speller; Stepson Jamil Speller (Aneesah); Granddaughters Jolie Speller and Madison Stokes.

Stepmother: Janet Shields; Stepsiblings: Tracey, Randolph and Renee Johnson; Debra, Sherri, and Terri Johnson.

Goddaughter: Brianna Smith; and best friend Mary Bogier, and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and Friends.
