On May 24th 2003, Sa'koria My'kela Thornton was born in Jacksonville, Florida to Mr. Carl and Smyrna Thornton.
She received her education from the public schools of Duval County, Florida. graduating from First Coast High school. Sa'koria furthered her education by attending college earning her certifications in Medical Assistance and Pharmacy Technician.
Sa'koria My'Kela Thornton aka "Koya" gained her wings on Monday, September 29, 2025, surrounded by those she loved and those who loved her.
Sa'koria will always be remembered as a loving, kind-hearted soul whose gentle spirit touched everyone she met. Soft-spoken yet full of warmth, she had a special way of making people feel seen, heard, and cared for. She was someone you could talk to about anything and trust with your heart, a true listener and dear friend. Devoted Mother, Sister, Daughter, Fiancé' and best friend. Sa'koria filled every role in her life with love and grace. Her dreams were beautiful as her spirit. She longed to travel, explore the world, and build a successful future for herself and her family. though her journey was cut short, her love, laughter, and light will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
Sa'koria was preceded in death by her grandparents, Joan Winn Blue, Benjamin Blue, Gloriestene Slaughter, Charlie Thornton; Aunts, Cecilia Winn, Josephine Brown; Cousins, Jaymin Winn and, Jaborris Thornton.
Her life will forever be cherished by her son, Kamazi-Thornton-Sneed; Mother, Smyrna Blue-Thornton; Father, Carl Thornton; Siblings, Altina Douglas, Jakaria Thornton, Ashanti Thornton, and Cassius Wilcox; nephews, Jeremiah Douglas, Willie Douglas, Cassius Wilcox, Jr, Cameron Wilcox, Larry Thornton, and Jai'ceon Douglas; Nieces, My'siah Douglas and Dy'Lynn Kennedy; She also cherish her devoted fiancé, Tye; her special friend more like a sister, Shauna; Godmother Deborah; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends to cherish her memory.
