Saundra Jean Maxwell Smith was born to (the late) Henry and Lennie Mae Maxwell on November 6, 1945. She departed this earth to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 24, 2020. Saundra was a native of Jacksonville, Florida, where she received her childhood education in the Duval County Public School System. She graduated from New Stanton Senior High in 1963.
At an early age, Saundra accepted Christ and became a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church, Jacksonville, Florida. She was an active member of the United Methodist Women, and Usher Board #3. She worked at the Independent Life Insurance Company for several years. Saundra lived in the Signature Healthcare Nursing Home for 15 years until her death. Saundra enjoyed playing bingo, watching the cooking channel, and Hallmark movies. She was predeceased by her father, Henry Maxwell Jr., Mother Lennie Mae Maxwell, daughter Evelyn E. Fullwood and sisters, Angela M. Fulwood, Lynette M. Smith, Myra M. Barbour and Maxine M. O’Neal.
She is survived by her three (3) sisters, Maryette Lesesne (Charleston, SC), Brenda E. Maxwell (Laurel, MD) and E. Elaine Maxwell (Laurel, MD) Nieces and Nephews, Valentino Lesesne, Valerie Gail Lesesne, Veatrice Lesesne, Darlene Powell, Lori Gabriel, Jeffery O’Neal, Jacqueline O’Neal-Brown, Junetta O’Neal, Angela Garrison, Taneaka Dance, Eddie Chaplin and a host of great-nieces, nephews, relatives and special friends.
A special Thank You to her CNA, Arthur, who took care of our dearly beloved sister Saundra during her entire stay at Signature Healthcare Nursing Home.
