Virginia A. Buckman

Virginia Ann Buckman was born on Thursday, August 30, 1951 to Claudia Mae Johnson and James Darnell Williams in Jacksonville, Florida. She was educated in the Duval County School system finishing her education at Stanton Vocational School.

 After high school, she immediately became a part of the active workforce to assist in raising her children. She met and married Melvin Buckman, increasing her family size from two children to five and travel all over the continental United States including Alaska.  An avid sports fanatic, she played Racquet Ball and Softball.  Instrumental in involving and introducing her children to sports. She never missed a game.  

She was predeceased in death by her mother, Claudia Mae Johnson; Aunt, Rether May Johnson, who raised her; brother, Sonny Boy, Two, sisters, Claudia Mae Johnson and Rosa Lee Johnson; ex-husband, Eugene Bridges; Two brothers-in-laws, Elijah, Jr. and Reginald.

She leaves to remember her life, her loving husband, three Sons, Tony Bridges (Teresa), El Rico Buckman and Talisma Buckman (Crystal); two Daughters, Tasha Nekol Bridges and Katarwa Buckman; Ten Grandchildren; thirteen Great-Grands and two on the way; two Sisters, Betty Calhoon and Gladyes Floyd.
