Virginia Rose Parham Horace, 81 years young, was born on November 9, 1944, in Arabi, Georgia (Crisp County) to the late Inez Wilson Parham and Clifford Parham.
As a child, Virginia moved to Jacksonville, Florida, where she received her education through the Duval County Public School System.
Virginia was loved by everyone she encountered. She was known for her warm spirit, kindness, and dedication to her work. She faithfully served for twenty-four and a half years in the Environmental Services Department of Shands Hospital, currently known as UF Health of Jacksonville. Her commitment and strong work ethics were admired by many. She later retired on September 30, 2011.
At an early age, Virginia accepted the Lord as her personal Savior. She was devoted member of Joint Heirs Christian Center under the leadership of Dr. David Thomas until her health began to decline. In 2019, she became a resident of Parkridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, where she remained until the Lord called her home. Virginia transitioned from this life on February 4, 2026.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Horace Jr.; her parents, Inez and Clifford Parham; her son, Tyrone Parham.
She leaves to cherish her precious memorie, her children, Sherria (Eddie), Terence (Candace), Patricia McCormick, Tommylee Marshall and Cookey “Brown Sugar.”
She is also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Articia McCray (Curtis), Robert Johnson, Antron Johnson and Tynorra Parham; 11 great-grandchildren, Nazariyah Pitts, Bruce Mallory, Johneasha Owens, Tyari Johnson, Aydenn Johnson, Zykerria Blakely, Zydosia Blakely and Tywond Blakely; two great-great-grandchildren, Skyy Smith and Zuri Mallory.
Virginia leaves behind her loving aunt, Merdice Wooten of Miami, Florida; her loving uncle, Ray Thomas Parham of Miami, Florida; three devoted former co-workers, Linda Henry, Charles Prime, and Mrs. Z; her favorite cousins, Gail Beverly Lofton, Marion Lofton and Cousin Pete; three sisters-in-law, Dorothy Hayes, Georgia Benson and Louvinia Allan; one brother-in-law, Joe Horace; best friend, Mrs. Emma Salter; her “sisters from another mother,” Mrs. Felicia Hunt, Mrs. Kathy Irvin, Mrs. Renee, and Mrs. Gloria Hill; along with a host of other relatives and dear friends.
